In focus: The LAUDA Vario pump
The optimal circulation of the liquid in the bath is of decisive importance for the stability of the set temperature. LAUDA has developed an individually adjustable pump, the LAUDA Vario pump, in order to improve performance in this respect. Five adjustable output steps always provide the correct capacity - and also considerably reduce the amount of power consumed. | A powerful drive unit as a foundation
The small LAUDA Vario pump is a highly flexible controllable, centrifugal pump, that is driven by an electronically-commutated DC external rotor motor. This allows intelligent connection of the unit to the thermostat. Working in combination with the optimum geometry of the pump components, made of high-tech plastics, an extremely high level of efficiency is reached by the very powerful and capable Vario pump.
Benefit from variable circulating capacity
The pump rating can be selected over five output steps by means of the three keys on the display. Thus it is possible to optimally match the circulating volume to the relevant conditions. In the case of small baths, for example, it is possible to avoid turbulance in the liquid and consequently overflowing, and it does not dissipate unnecessary energy in the bath. Therefore, the often requested temperature within the room temperature range can be achieved without additional cooling. Thanks to a simple flap mechanism, either an external circuit can be supplied or within the bath circulation can be produced according to the nature of the task in hand.
More safety, more performance
The LAUDA Vario pump has an extremely high operating efficiency, and because of this, avoids any unnecessary additional energy input into the bath. Furthermore, it also makes the entire thermostat highly efficient. In addition, there are also integrated safety functions. The intelligent processor electronics monitors all operating parameters - with no less than two independent micro-controllers. Through this, the Vario pump offers unique low level protection via the pump.
Flexible thermostating: the LAUDA Vario pump
All LAUDA Ecoline Staredition devices have a 5-level Vario pump with adjustable pump housing and high reserve capacity. With it you can get as much capacity as possible and only use as much energy as necessary. This provides greater flexibility of use, an economical energy consumption and powerful thermostating. Level 1 is sufficient for circulation in a small bath, level 3 is for a medium-sized bath, and level 5 is just right for a large bath or for external thermostating. Setting is done via the keyboard.
Work more simply from ambient temperature
Without additional cooling being necessary, you can often work at ambient temperature at level 1 thanks to the hydro-dynamically optimised Vario pump.
Simple to switch over from internal to external
Of course the innovative and economic temperature control technology of the LAUDA Ecoline Staredition includes a continuously variable individual flow split. Depending on the application, you can split the flow between internal bath circulation and an external circuit.

Safety technology that inspires
All the LAUDA Ecoline Staredition equipment uses protection against overtemperatures, a safety switching-off, an acoustic fault alarm and a unique form of protection against an excessively low level of liquid (DGM, patent No. 29723390.4): If the pump runs dry due to the level of heat transfer liquid decreasing, then both the pump and heating are automatically switched off. Thanks to the automatic selfdiagnosis, all the important operating states and faults are shown on the display. A safety circuit with additional Pt sensor guarantees maximum operating safety. The maximum temperature of the overtemperature protection is set with a screwdriver, and then the exact value set is automatically shown on the display. All the LAUDA Ecoline Staredition units are suitable for operation with non-flammable and flammable liquids (safety class III, FL). Stray magnetic fields are kept to a minimum to ensure that adjacent devices or monitors are not affected.

Simple to calibrate
It is possible to calibrate all LAUDA Ecoline Staredition equipment in order to equalise temperature differences. You have the option of 1-point calibration which can be corrected and reset at any time. In addition to this option, the E 200* and E 300* control heads also offer 2-point factory calibration with an accuracy of 0.2 °C over the entire operating temperature range.
Cooling more economically
LAUDA Ecoline Staredition cooling thermostats use a powerful cooling unit with high reserve capacity to extract sufficient heat at the stated minimum temperatures. They have automatic refrigeration control that thinks rationally and economically. It switches the compressor on or off depending on the requirements. This saves energy, lengthens the lifetime of the compressor and makes the unit capable of being automated. The more powerful E 200* and E 300* units also have automatic cooling capacity adjustment, which allows for further savings and improvements in temperature control. By the way: All LAUDA Ecoline Staredition heating thermostats are fitted with cooling coils to enable operation with cold water, as well as pump connections for a LAUDA through-flow cooler, as standard naturally.
